Food is any material taken from the earth to provide nutrition to the organisms. Generally speaking, food is generally of animal, plant or fungi origin, and has key nutrients, including proteins, vitamins, carbohydrates, sugars, or other nutrients that are necessary for human health and growth. People who eat too little food, on the other hand, do not have enough energy and may feel less than healthy.

It helps to eat more protein than carbohydrates. Protein is the building block of muscles, so consuming it helps build stronger and more muscular bones. Foods high in protein include meat, eggs, cheese, soy sauce, cottage cheese, yogurt, peanut butter, fish, poultry, and beans. Animal meat, especially red meat, contains a high amount of fat that increases your risk of heart disease. Eggs are filled with protein, but they also contain large amounts of cholesterol and saturated fat that can clog your arteries and increase your risk of stroke and heart attack.

Diets low in carbohydrates cause people to crave sweets, especially simple sugars. As a result, many dieters suffer from weight gain and nutritional deficiencies. A balanced diet is one in which you get the proper proportion of proteins, carbohydrates, and fiber. You should eat small amounts of each food type. For example, you should never eat large amounts of rice, pasta, bread, or any food that is made primarily of flour.
