Food is one of the earliest forms of communication. It is an exchange of energy, thoughts and feelings between human beings. The word food originates from the Greek words “food” and “taste”.
The cuisine is a particular characteristic style of preparing food, often associated with a certain region, nation or community, and often times associated with food festivals. Food can also be consumed in large quantities, usually eaten during feasts and social gatherings, and often served as a type of state obligation. In large informal gatherings for the purpose of socializing and dining, this characteristic style of preparing food is very common. A national, local or regional cuisine has to spread over the entire world with its food readily available to almost everyone, especially to people outside that region or nation.
Cuisine from the United States must, therefore, have a certain characteristic style that is unique to its location, region or community. This style may be related to the specific region’s history and cultural heritage. Certain events, for example, may influence the creation of a particular American cuisine or food types. American food is often influenced by the vast differences between the northern and southern states of the United States, such as the deep south, mid-west, and west coast, among others. The southern states are commonly known for their barbecue, soul food and their own distinct cuisine.
Food from the United Kingdom, on the other hand, is commonly referred to as British cuisine. This characteristic style is also related to the historic British traditions of eating outdoors and preparing multi-course meals. European cuisine, or cuisine from all over the world, is now used as an approach in developing international dishes. European cuisine refers to the culinary traditions of different countries, which are widely appreciated for their ingredients and their preparation procedures.
Another reason why there are so many different types of cuisine in the world is because there are many different countries and peoples from all around the globe. These differences in the traditions of preparing food could be one of the reasons why we have so many different cuisines available in our supermarkets. In America, for instance, hamburgers are big. In Europe, they are usually small, and French fries are considered to be like applesauce. Therefore, just by considering the ingredients and preparation methods of these dishes, it is easy to see how they are so different.
Food from Asia and Africa are mainly influenced by the countries’ primary sources of food – rice and beans. For example, Chinese cuisine primarily influences the ingredients available locally, with the exception of noodles (such as tofu) and noodles themselves. In addition to using fresh ingredients, it also relies on dried ones, such as miso and seaweed. African cuisine mostly uses foods that are available locally, such as sorghum and millet.
